Abstract

This article aims to analyze the main changes recently introduced in criminal law and criminal procedure law in Brazil, highlighting the legislative inflation in the creation of criminal types, as well as the existence of symbolic mechanisms that, far from allowing the mitigation of the causes of crime, correspond to demagogic instruments on the part of the legislator, triggered by the collective feeling of insecurity in the face of crime.
