Course On Management And Leadership Is Concluded

Leadership isn't just about having a job - it's about knowing how to deal with people, resolve conflicts and create a fairer, more collaborative working environment. With this in mind, civil servers from various sectors of the Judiciary are taking part in the course on People Management and Leadership, promoted by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) in partnership with the General Internal Affairs of Justice.

The aim of the training is to develop skills in management, ethics, innovation and human relations - everything that makes a difference in the day-to-day work of the Judiciary.

With a 20-hour workload, the course is held in a hybrid format; the first stage was held online, via Google Meet, last Friday (May 16th). The face-to-face meetings are being held this Thursday and Friday (May 22nd and 23rd) at Esmat in the city of Palmas.

At the in-person opening, Justice Pedro Nelson de Miranda Coutinho, General Chief of Justice, made a point of welcoming the participants..

“I'm here to thank you and wish you all a great course. I need all of you well prepared to help us with the actions of the General Internal Affairs of Justice.”

The training proposal goes beyond theory: the content is also practical, with case studies and useful tools to strengthen the organizational climate, communication and teamwork. All of this is aimed at building a more efficient, ethical and connected Judiciary.

Among the facilitators were Engineer Luiz Antonio Capanema Pedrosa and federal Judge Carlos Henrique Borlido Haddad, who stressed the importance of continuous training.

Our goal is to further train the teams, especially those who work in the General Internal Affairs Department, which plays a fundamental role in supporting the functioning of judicial units throughout the State. These professionals are often faced with challenges related to processes, leadership and coexistence in the workplace.

“Our focus is exactly this: to strengthen leadership, improve communication and interpersonal relationships, so that the General Internal Affairs of Justice can exercise its guiding role with excellence and contribute to make the judicial service in the state of Tocantins increasingly efficient," said the magistrate.

For those who experience the reality of the General Internal Affairs of Justice on a daily basis, like Glacielle Borges Torquato, the training is essential. "The course of the General Internal Affairs is fundamental, especially because of the role it plays in guiding and supervising services, judicial and extrajudicial units. The General Internal Affairs of Justice, in its guiding role, has the function of assisting magistrates in the management of their courts. Because more important than judging cases is managing the court well, organizing the processes, the workflows, so that the civil servers can work with a better quality of life and deliver the results that society expects. And for us, as civil servers, even those who do not hold leadership positions, it is necessary to develop self-leadership, self-management of activities and performance on a daily basis. This has a direct impact on the organization of our work and the proper delivery of our services."

By making room for those who already lead and those who want to prepare themselves, the course signals a change in culture within the Judiciary. The idea is simple: invest in people to transform institutions. And that starts with training, listening and appreciation.
