Judiciary Of The State Of Tocantins Institutes Retirement Preparation Program (Ppa) And Appreciation Program For Retired Magistrates

The Judiciary of the State of Tocantins (PJTO) instituted, through the Resolution No. 17 of July 4th, 2024, the Retirement Preparation Program (PPA) and the Appreciation Program for Retired Magistrates for the State, taking into account the policies and standards for promoting well-being and healthy living for all, at all ages.

The decision also follows the provisions of the items I and II of the art. 28 of the Law No. 10.741, of October 1st, 2003 (Statute of the Elderly), stating that the government should encourage programs to prepare for retirement and use skills and experience for institutional activities; following strategic macro-challenges that are part of the Goal 38 of the PJTO, which includes programs to value civil servers and Judges, among other rules of the National Council of Justice (CNJ).

Goals of the program

Among its objectives, the fundamental principles of the program are to collaborate in the process of transition to retirement; to contribute to a healthy and sustainable retirement experience; to preserve, include and use the experience and knowledge accumulated in the exercise of jurisdiction to achieve institutional goals; to enable interaction between generations; to encourage qualification and improvement after retirement; and to guide the planning and development of activity projects for the post-retirement period.

In addition, it will be dedicated to support the transition period prior to retirement, through multidisciplinary approaches that promote awareness, planning and evaluation of the new life cycle acquired after the period.

Implementation

The program will be planned, executed, monitored and evaluated by the Directorate of People Management (Digep) and other units of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO), according to their needs, and it will be supervised by the General Directorate of the Court (Diger).

Role of Esmat

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) will play an important role in the program, regulating the participation of retired magistrates as both students and professors in the courses offered by the school.

Esmat will reserve at least 10% of student places for retired magistrates in activities such as training for trainers, postgraduate courses and other training courses. In the official initial training course for magistrates and other continuing training courses, retired magistrates will have a percentage of class hours allocated to them as professors, according to their qualifications.

In addition to having professionals from various areas of health, the program will feature thematic modules on physical and mental health, financial planning, social connections, pension issues and post-retirement activities, which can be held in one-off events and/or serial activities.

Requirements

In order to take part in the program, magistrates must follow certain requirements set out in the Resolution, as well as comply with the rules it lays down.
