
From April 10th to 12th, the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem) is holding the Copedem 2025 Congress at the Windsor Marapendi Hotel in the city of Rio de Janeiro, with the theme on “Building the future with intelligent technologies: contemporary perspectives on the development of the judicial system, law and business”.
The event will bring together experts from Brazil and abroad, members of the judiciary, academia, the private sector and partner institutions, in an intense programming that will address the transformations promoted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and new technologies on different fronts of the justice system.
Among the topics on the agenda will be:
- Generative AI and judicial decision-making
- Ethics, responsibility and regulation of AI
- Cybersecurity, privacy and data protection
- Innovations in the legal, financial, agro and health sectors
- Blockchain, smart contracts and new business models
- Technological training in judicial schools
For Justice Marco Villas Boas, president of Copedem and general director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), the Congress represents a unique opportunity to integrate knowledge and sectors.
"Events like this are fundamental for us to reflect on the impact of emerging technologies on justice and to think together about regulatory, pedagogical and institutional solutions. Artificial intelligence must be at the service of citizenship and the strengthening of democracy," he shared.
The event is coordinated by the Legal Memory Center, Memory, and it has the support of institutions such as the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), the National School of the Judiciary (ENM), the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates (Enfam), the Labor Court, Esmat and universities.
