The lecture on "Human Rights, the Environment and Indigenous Peoples", which will feature renowned indigenous leader Chief Raoni, has had its location changed. The event, which had been scheduled to take place at the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), will now be held in the auditorium of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO). The change was made to better accommodate the public and ensure the safety of all participants, considering the number of registrants and the confirmed presence of indigenous representatives from all over Brazil.
The lecture, which is part of the Program for the Socio-Political Inclusion of the Indigenous Peoples, approved by the United Nations, will be held on May 21st, starting at 2pm. The event will also be broadcast live on the YouTube page of Esmat.
With 380 vacancies available, the lecture is open to the general public and it promises to be a unique opportunity to learn from the experience and wisdom of Chief Raoni, who is internationally recognized for his struggle to defend indigenous rights and preserve the environment.

About the lecturer
The great leader known as Chief Raoni was probably born in the early 1930s, in an ancient Mebêngôkre (Kayapó) village called Kraimopry-yaka, in the northeast of the State of Mato Grosso. In 1954, when the Mẽbêngôkre people established definitive contact with the whites, Cacique Raoni was around 24 years old and played a fundamental role in the pacification process of several villages. At that time, he met the Villas Boas brothers, with whom he learned how to speak Portuguese and became aware of the non-indigenous world. Throughout his career, Chief Raoni has been a protagonist in several struggles on behalf of the indigenous peoples and the Amazon, and he has become internationally recognized as a legitimate leader and spokesperson for the preservation of the environment.
