"The idea is always to support, verify, share and cooperate," said the national ombudsman, Justice Luis Felipe Salomão, at the end of the ordinary inspections in the administrative and judicial sectors of the Tocantins Judiciary (PJTO) and in the extrajudicial offices, on Wednesday (February 7).

The end of the activities of the National Court of Justice took place during the opening ceremony of the 3rd  Meeting of Permanent Chiefs of Justice and the General Internal Affairs of Justice of the State of Tocantins (Encope), held in the auditorium of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO).

At the time, the Minister explained that, in the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins, the inspection team visited all the offices of Justices, which he said "are absolutely in order". The Minister pointed out that the first-degree units were also visited and that all aspects were examined with the aim of improving and strengthening judicial activities in order to provide better services to citizens. "What we want is to support the successes and cooperate to overcome the difficulties," he said.

Dialogue

The President of the TJTO, Justice Etelvina Maria Sampaio Felipe, praised the team from the National Internal Affairs of Justice that worked on the inspection. "The team is extremely capable, dedicated, very respectful and it has established what we need: dialog," she said. The President recalled that the National Justice Inspectorate did not come to the TJTO as a punitive body, but rather as a guiding one. "Guidance is what we need," she stressed.

For the General Chief of Justice of the State of Tocantins, Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal, the work will further strengthen the justice system in the State of Tocantins, "ensuring compliance with legal principles and providing a more effective legal environment," she emphasized. "I hope that this ordinary inspection will result in a comprehensive assessment of judicial practices, identifying areas for improvement and promoting the efficiency of judicial provision," she added, placing the General Internal Affairs of Justice at the disposal of the National Internal Affairs of Justice to collaborate and contribute to the post-inspection work.

Ordinary Correction

The TJTO was the first State court to receive ordinary inspections from the National Internal Affairs of Justice in the first half of 2024. The inspection, which began last Monday (February 5th), is a routine procedure of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and it is carried out annually, with the aim of verifying procedures for improving the provision of justice and, consequently, offering better service to citizens.

In addition to the TJTO, this year the courts of the State of Santa Catarina (TJSC), Paraná (TJPR), Mato Grosso (TJMT), Bahia (TJBA), Ceará (TJCE), Paraíba (TJPB) and Espírito Santo (TJES) are to be inspected, according to the schedule established in an ordinance.
