The opening of the 3rd Meeting of Permanent Chiefs of Justice and the General Internal Affairs of Justice of the State of  Tocantins (Encope), on Wednesday evening (February 7th), was marked by the recognition of six companies that foster the training and professional development of adolescents who live under the responsibility of foster care institutions. Established in 2023 by the General Internal Affairs of Justice of the State of Tocantins (CGJUS), the Friend of the Fostered Adolescent (Amigo do Adolescente Acolhido) certificate seeks to enable the process of deinstitutionalization of young people living in institutional care when they turn 18.

The certificate was delivered during the ceremony by the General Chief of Justice of the State of Tocantins, Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal, and by the National Chief of Justice, Luis Felipe Salomão. The following companies received the honor: “Móveis Popular” (Popular Furniture) (city of Divinópolis), represented by businesswoman Ana Zélia Abreu Wanderley; “Dinâmica” (Dynamic) Stationery (city of Divinópolis), represented by businesswoman Carmencita Lúcia Barbosa; “Quartetto” Supermarkets (cities of Palmas and Gurupi), represented by Roni Paulo Lima, the General Director of the chain; “Abreu Dias” Individual Law Firm (city of Divinópolis), represented by lawyer Diciane Alves Abreu Dias; “Ferpam” Trade in Tools, Screws and Machines LTDA LTDA (city of Palmas), represented by businessman Ivan Ricardo Naves Inácio; and “Nosso Lar” (Our Home) Stores (cities of Palmas, Colinas and Araguaína), represented by manager Eliane Moura Santos Ferreira.

"I was very happy to receive this certificate and to be recognized by the Judiciary; I was very grateful for the project and I want to congratulate everyone for their organization and initiative," said businesswoman Ana Zélia Abreu Wanderley;

"I think it's the company that wins the most, because it seems that, as it's a new opportunity, they take it more strongly. They come with a real desire to work, to make a difference. And I also see their joy and gratitude for the opportunity they've had. I think it was, as I said, a partnership that worked and that can only evolve," said another honoree, lawyer Diciane Alves Abreu Dias.

For the Assistant Judge Ariostenis Guimaraes Vieira of the CGJUS, coordinator of the Judicial Adoption Commission of the State of Tocantins (Ceja), the initiative of the General Internal Affairs aims to give visibility to the process of de-institutionalizing foster children, recognizing partner companies and encouraging the participation of society as a whole. "Participating in this moment goes beyond the simple idea of statehood, as it involves people motivated by values of fraternity, who have come together to help a teenager in an institution, offering them a chance at life. Giving someone an opportunity, free of charge and on a voluntary basis, is a noble gesture in every respect," he said. "It is essential that these actions multiply and that we can continue to highlight what is being done to inspire other people to do the same," he added.
