Socialization of good practices: III webinar on adoption love without age drives improvements in childhood and youth processes

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), in partnership with the General Internal Affairs of Justice, held on Tuesday morning (May 16th) the III Webinar on Adoption Love without Age, with the theme on "The socialization of good practices in cases of childhood and youth”. The event, held as distance learning (EaD), aimed to adopt the necessary measures and procedures to promote procedural agility in cases of adoption, removal and foster care of children and adolescents, with a view to socializing best practices in this area.

The opening of the Webinar was conducted by Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal, Chief Justice, who stressed the importance of stimulating magistrates and public servers in the search for the improvement and refinement of good practices, in order to reduce as much as possible the time children spend in foster homes.

Justice Maysa highlighted that the initiative of the event is aligned with the objective of the General Internal Affairs of Justice and of the Presidency of the Court to obtain the quality stamp in the provision of services offered to the population.

“This is a very sensitive issue, and what the Judiciary wants is to provide the socially and affectively unprotected minors with a perspective of legal security and citizenship, and, finally, an effective demonstration of love for one's neighbor," she said.

The Webinar program included the participation of lecturers and debaters specialized in the area of Children and Youth. Among them were Doctor Adriano Gomes de Melo Oliveira, Judge of Children and Youth of the city of Palmas and coordinator of the Coordinator of Childhood and Youth of the city of Palmas (CIJ); Doctor Sidney Fiori Júnior, Prosecutor and Coordinator of the Center of Operational Support to the Promoters of Children.

During the Webinar, Judge Adriano emphasized the importance of the debate about the good practices experienced daily in the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins, both in the protective area and in the processes related to infractional practices. He pointed out that the socio-educational measures should not be seen only as punishment, but also as instruments of protection for teenagers who are victims of abandonment, prejudice, and social vulnerability. According to the Judge, it is necessary to articulate the infractional area with the protective area to offer adequate actions to young people in vulnerable situations.

Judge Adriano also highlighted the importance of the State Prosecution support and shared some actions that are being carried out in the city of Palmas to face the challenges in the area of Children and Youth.
