Academic approach: esmat and the general internal affairs of justice dialogue with future law professionals

Taking the General Internal Affairs of Justice of the State of Tocantins (CGJUS) into the universities. This is the motto of a project started this Monday (May 15th), by the CGJUS, in partnership with the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat). Aiming to bring the Judiciary closer to the population, lectures and chats will be held in the academic environment to expand the dialogue and promote the exchange of knowledge about the work of the CGJUS.

The project is part of the 2023-2025 Management Plan and was developed to inform, guide, and share relevant information about the work of the General Internal Affairs of Justice with law school students, strengthening the institutional relationship between the Judiciary and society.

The first edition of the University General Internal Affairs of Justice was held with law students from the Lutheran University of Brazil - Ceulp Ulbra, in the city of Palmas. About 90 academics participated in the moment of conversation with the Judiciary. "I am very happy to see the General Internal Affairs of Justice in this academic environment and I hope that the knowledge we will share throughout this project can somehow add to the education of the students", said the Chief Justice, Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal, at the opening of the event.

According to the Chief, the activities of the General Internal Affairs of Justice are wide-ranging and the project meetings will be an opportunity to show the main actions developed by the body. "The General Internal Affairs of Justice, far beyond its supervisory and punitive nature, aims to guide and support judicial and extrajudicial activity. Our work is based on the permanent search for the improvement and effectiveness of the judicial provision", he said.

For Professor Sinvaldo Neves, who represented the coordination of the Law course in the event, the initiative of the Judiciary in going to the universities reinforces the openness to dialogue and contributes to bring Justice closer to the citizens. "We have our doors open to the Judiciary, and I am very enthusiastic about this initiative on behalf of the academics, on behalf of the community", he evaluated.

Lecture

The first lecture of the project was about The Judiciary and Land Regularization in the State of Tocantins. The theme was addressed by Judge Wellington Magalhães, coordinator of the Center of Prevention and Land Regularization of the State of Tocantins (Nupref), who highlighted the actions of the Judiciary in the State of Tocantins focused on citizens and explained to the students the objectives of the initiative. "The land title regularization program is an instrument of transformation that promotes social and economic inclusion. It is a collective mechanism for social pacification, which adds value to real estate and provides economic power to citizens. In this sense, I highlight the importance of the involvement of all public actors in the process", he said.
