Registrations are open for the II Webinar on citizenship and justice from the indigenous perspective of the state of Tocantins - a necessary dialogue and the law

With the proposal of awakening and strengthening the awareness of magistrates, servers and the community about the human rights of indigenous peoples, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) holds, on April 18th, the II Webinar on Citizenship and Justice from the Indigenous Perspective – a necessary dialogue and the law. Registrattions are open until April 18th.

The event takes place in the Distance Learning modality, from 8 am to noon through the Esmat Portal. A thousand vacancies are being offered to Judges, magistrates, employees, and servers of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins and to the community in general, and it aims to raise and strengthen awareness about the human rights of indigenous peoples, as provided for in Convention 169 of the International Labor Organization and the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, which, in its Article 231, recognizes the social organization, customs, languages, beliefs and traditions of indigenous peoples.

Among the proposals of the Webinar are: understanding the cultural order, customs, and traditions of indigenous peoples, emphasizing the way in which judicial decisions involving these peoples are made from a dialogic stance with the different parties and interests involved.
