Course Strengthens Support And Security Network For Women In The Judiciary Of The State Of Tocantins

With the holding of the Class IV in the municipality of Gurupi, on November 18th, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) concluded the activities of the course on Prevention and Female Personal Defense. The training, conducted in person, integrated the actions of the Program for Protection, Humanized and Solidary Reception to Women of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins (PAHS) and it was coordinated by Judge Cirlene Maria de Assis Santos Oliveira.

Aimed at female civil servers, magistrates, collaborators, outsourcers and interns, the initiative sought to strengthen the autonomy of women and expand institutional security, promoting practical strategies of self-protection, welcoming and strengthening ties among participants. The course was offered in four classes, contemplating different poles and regions of the State.

Class I, held at the Forum of district of Porto Nacional on October 10th, brought together participants from the counties of Porto Nacional, Ponte Alta do Tocantins, Natividade, Paraíso do Tocantins and Cristalândia. Class II, on October 24th, was directed to the regions of Araguaína, Philadelphia, Wanderlândia, Xambioá, Colinas do Tocantins and Guaraí, with training activities focused on personal defense techniques and body awareness.

Class III, on October 30th, at the pole of Araguatins, attended to the regions of Araguatins, Tocantinópolis, Augustinópolis, Itaguatins, Ananas and Goiatins. Finally, Class IV, in Gurupi, on November 18th, brought together participants from the counties of Gurupi, Peixe, Formoso do Araguaia, Alvorada and Araguaçu.

With a total workload of 8 hours, 80 vacancies were made available, equally distributed among the four classes, including magistrates, civil servers, interns and collaborators from the 20 counties of the State.

The proposal is in line with the Resolution 18 of the TJTO of 2023 and the Recommendation 102 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) of 2021, which directs courts throughout the country to adopt integrated measures for protecting and addressing gender-based violence in the institutional environment.
