With the closing of the Class IV of the course on FluêncIA (FluenCAI) on Artificial Intelligence, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) completed another cycle of training aimed at democratizing knowledge about emerging technologies in the Judiciary. The activities, offered in self-instructional mode, were carried out from September 15th to October 24th, in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) of the School.

For the server Álvaro Ricardo Berto Paim Borges, head of secretariat of the Criminal Court of the district of Miracema do Tocantins, attending the course was an opportunity for personal and professional transformation.

“Taking the course on Artificial Intelligence was an amazing experience! At first I thought that AI was something very complicated, but over the course of the classes I realized that it is a tool that can really facilitate our day by day", he highlighted.

The programmatic content, structured in six modules and developed in partnership with Microsoft itself, addressed from technical fundamentals to ethical issues and real applicability in the public service. The proposal was that the students recognize the potential of AI in professional daily life and are able to use it responsibly.

“I learned how to use technology in a practical, ethical and productive way. I really enjoyed seeing real examples and understanding how AI is already part of our routine, even when we don’t even notice. I leave the course with a new vision about the future and with the desire to continue learning more about the subject", completed the server.

Over the first half of 2025, three other classes were offered, adding hundreds of subscribers from different regions and areas of activity. Class I was held from March 5th to April 13th; Class II, from April 14th to May 23rd; and Class III, initially scheduled to end on July 4th, had its schedule extended until July 14th. In all, more than 670 certificates were issued.

The initiative was coordinated by Justice Marco Villas Boas, general director of Esmat and president of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem), and technical coordination of the doctoral student in Governance and Digital Transformation (PPGGTD/UFT/ESMAT) Ana Beatriz de Oliveira Pretto, executive director of the school.
