
In April, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) will hold the course on “Criminal Sentencing in Practice”, in person. The training, coordinated by Judge Wellington Magalhães, is aimed at advisors to magistrates in the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins and it will offer fifty places.
The registrations period runs from March 18th to April 8th and it will be carried out by the Academic Secretariat of Esmat, based on indications from the Support Center for the Courts and the Districts of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO). The training focuses on improving the drafting and analysis of criminal sentences, covering everything from the technical structure of the sentence to aspects such as legal reasoning, dosimetry of the sentence and case law from the superior courts.
The course will include 16 hours of classes divided between theory and practice. Participants will have contact with case studies, simulations and practical exercises in the morning from April 22nd to 25th, with the aim of strengthening the legal certainty of judicial decisions.
The teacher in charge will be Yuri Anderson Pereira Jurubeba, who holds a PhD in Law from PUC-Rio and specializes in Criminal Sciences and Judicial Management.
