Esmat Offers Course On Restorative Justice At School

Since September 14th, the Superior School of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) has been running the course Restorative Justice at school - theoretical part. The training, which is 30 hours long, is working with the application of the principles and values of the Restorative Justice, developing them from the dimensions of relational, institutional and social conflict.

The fifth and final webinar of the course took place on Thursday (October 19th), with professors Alexandre Takaschima and Lília Vieira. The distance learning course is part of the project Introducing Restorative Justice into the Education System: a partnership between the Justice System and the Community.

With 90 students registered, the practical activities of the face-to-face peace-building circles for students from the State of Tocantins continue until October 27th. Four Peacebuilding Circles will be held so that the participants have the opportunity to engage in meaningful and constructive dialogues, following the Restorative Justice methodology with members of the school community.
