Registrations Are Open For The 2nd National Exam For Notaries

Registrations for the 2nd National Exam for Notaries (Enac) are now open. The deadline is 4 p.m. on August 13th (Brasília time), and registrations must be made on the website of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), which is responsible for the exam. The fee is R$150 (one hundred and fifty reais).

The announcement was published on July 14th by the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which is coordinating the exam. The exam will take place on September 28th, from 2pm to 7pm, in all the Brazilian capitals.

As in the previous edition, the exam will be a single, objective stage, with 100 multiple-choice questions. Enac is eliminatory in nature and does not serve as a qualifying exam for notary contests.

According to the CNJ, the exam seeks to standardize the minimum technical knowledge requirement for those wishing to apply for extrajudicial registry offices throughout the country. To take part, you must have a law degree or have worked in notary or registry services for at least ten years

The person who achieves 60% or more correct answers will be considered qualified. For self-declared black, indigenous or disabled candidates, the minimum score required is 50%.

Qualification in the Enac is a prerequisite for registering for notary public competitions promoted by the state courts of justice. The exam is valid for six years from the date the final result is ratified, which is scheduled for December 15th, 2025.
