The public consultation on the proposal to create a Policy on Accessibility and Inclusion of People with Disabilities in the Judiciary is open until July 21st. The initiative comes from the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and it aims to make the Judiciary more inclusive, guaranteeing the participation of society in the construction of rules that ensure the rights of people with disabilities.
Anyone interested in the topic can send in contributions - be they judges, civil servers, outsourced workers, trainees or users of the Justice System. Suggestions should be made using the form available on the website of the CNJ, where the draft Resolution is also published.
It is possible to propose changes, deletions or additions to the text. To do this, it is necessary to indicate which part you wish to modify, explain the suggested change and justify your proposal.
The public consultation seeks to align the text with the Brazilian Law on the Inclusion of People with Disabilities (Law No. 13.146 of 2015) and consolidate practices that promote full access to Justice. The future Resolution should combat ableism and guide conduct and policies throughout the Judiciary and Extrajudicial Registry Offices.
