
Judge Wellington Magalhães, 2nd Deputy Director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) and member of the Council of Courses, was one of the speakers at ExpoJUD, held at the College of Law of the University of Lisbon, in Portugal, which ends this Friday, April 4th. During the event, the magistrate emphasized the importance of judicial schools in training magistrates and civil servers to use Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) tools in the Judiciary. The presentation highlighted strategic role of Esmat in developing digital skills and modernizing judicial processes.
In his speech, Wellington Magalhães emphasized the initiatives of the school in the use of Generative AI, such as the HÓRUS Project, which aims to create innovative solutions to deal with the large volume of cases in Brazilian courts. The presentation of technological and training projects positions Esmat as a benchmark in the preparation of legal professionals for the use of artificial intelligence in everyday court life. The magistrate has a law degree from the University Center of the city of Brasília (UniCEUB), a master's degree in Constitutional Law from the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and Judicial Provision and Human Rights (UFT/ESMAT) and a doctorate in Regional Development (UFT/ESMAT).
The project, according to the magistrate, is based on principles of transparency, traceability, confidentiality, information security and compliance with the General Data Protection Act (LGPD). He also highlighted the partnership with Microsoft Brazil to promote AI training courses, both in person and at a distance, reinforcing the commitment of Esmat to continue education and adapt to new technologies.
