The XVIII International Congress on Human Rights was closed on Friday (November 14th) with the delivery of certificates of completion of the Inter-institutional Doctorate in Law and Public Policies, developed by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), in partnership with the University Center of the city of Brasilia (UniCeub). The ceremony took place in the auditorium of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) and it marked the closing of the event after three days of debates and reflections on the challenges and advances of Artificial Intelligence in the Judiciary and Human Rights.

After the graduation of the doctors, the award ceremony was held for students from undergraduate and graduate courses who participated in the activity on "Banner Exhibition", which took place on Thursday (November 13th), with the presentation of 90 papers in panel format. All certificates were delivered by the general director of ESMAT and president of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem), Justice Marco Villas Boas.

“They were memorable days, of much knowledge and exchanges, from the contents of AI presented. Then, use them with conscience and responsibility, taking advantage of everything that was offered", pointed the Justice.

The PhD course began in 2020 and, at the opportunity, fifteen new doctors received certification. On behalf of the class, the assistant judge of the Presidency of the TJTO, Esmar Custódio Vêncio Filho, thanked Esmat for the opportunity to offer "something unthinkable, such as classes with people of the highest caliber, such as ministers Ayres Britto, Fux and Barroso", highlighted.

“It was an extraordinary knowledge, and everyone helped each other in the class", added Judge Esmar, noting that "a happy oyster does not make a pearl”.

Who also believed in their dreams and did not stop even before the challenges faced during the course, was Professor Nathália Canhedo, who, in the middle of the doctorate, had little Cecilia, today with a year and a half.

"My God, how am I going to get two great missions, two great titles? On the day of the defense, I put a t-shirt with the three titles that I am most proud: professor, doctor and mother. So, it was a triple journey," she said proudly as she completed her doctorate with her little girl on her lap. She reinforced: "I am opening doors today so that Cecilia, one day, if she wants to, will also be in the same situation as her mother. I think she will, there in front, when she understands, look and feel the pride of the mother who opened doors so that she also has a good education."

Accompanied the justice in the delivery of the certificates: the assistant director of Esmat, Justice Angela Haonat; the professor and coordinator of the Master’s Program and Doctorate in Law and Public Policies of UniCeub, doctor Marcelo Dias Varella; Professor Liziane Paixão, academic coordinator of the Inter institutional Doctorate in Law of UniCeub/ Esmat; and Doctor Professor Gustavo Paschoal, local coordinator of the same program.
