Magistrates Of The Tjto Participate In Training On Humanized Care For The Elderly

On August 27th and 28th, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) promoted the event on "Administrative and Judicial Care for the Elderly in the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins", aimed exclusively at magistrates of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins.

The initiative, carried out virtually, focused on strengthening judicial and administrative practices aimed at the elderly public, in line with the Resolution 520 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), 2023.

With a 6-hour class load, the event was held in partnership with the State Coordination of the Elderly Person (Cocid), under the coordination of Judge Márcio Soares da Cunha, responsible for the Management of Precedents and Collective Actions of the TJTO. During the opening, the magistrate highlighted the commitment of the General Internal Affairs of Justice to promote the rights of the elderly.

“We have already promoted training for civil servers and accredited of GGEM (Management of Entities and Movements], strengthening the support network", he pointed out.

The programming had two exhibitions. The first, taught by Judge Monize da Silva Freitas Marques, coordinator of the Judicial Center for the Elderly in the Court of the Federal District and Territories (TJDFT), addressed the bio psychosocial aspects of aging, relevant normative frameworks and guidelines of the Resolution no 520, of 2023.

On the second day, Judge Odete Batista Dias de Almeida, from the TJTO, shared the regional experience in building an inter-institutional network of care for the elderly. Based on the survey: "Reality of the Elderly Population in the State of Tocantins", carried out by the teams of the TJTO in 35 counties, data were presented on the existing infrastructure, territorial challenges and more recurrent types of violence faced by this population.
