On March 11th and 12th, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) will hold the WORKSHOP on Sustainability in Practice: Waste Management and Conscious Consumption of Natural Resources. Coordinated by Justice Ângela Maria Ribeiro Prudente, the event will be aimed at professionals who work in the pantry, cleaning, reception, gardening, carpentry and loading services in the buildings of the Court of Justice, the General Internal Affairs of Justice, the Palmas Forum, Esmat, the Center of Education for Children (CEI), Napsi and Annexes I and II, as well as legal representatives of the companies that provide cleaning services.
The aim of the WORKSHOP is to provide knowledge about solid waste management, selective collection, recycling and to support the continuation of the Project on Solidary Selective Collection in the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins. The activities will be led by Cinthia Barbosa Pires Azevedo and Welica Rodrigues Lemes Barros, who will be responsible for the two classes of the event.
The course is in line with the guidelines of the National Solid Waste Policy (Law No. 12.305 of 2010) and the Decree No. 10.936 of 2022, which regulate environmental education in solid waste management. It also adapts to the requirements of the Resolution No. 550 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which determines the monitoring of indicators related to waste and the implementation of sustainability practices in the Judiciary.
In addition to serve the Coordination of Social and Environmental Management and Social Responsibility (Cogersa), the WORKSHOP will contribute for reducing the environmental, social and economic impacts generated by inadequate waste management.
