International Congress On Human Rights Starts Tomorrow (October 2nd) In The City Of Palmas

There are still vacancies available for the 17th Edition of the International Congress on Human Rights, which starts tomorrow, October 2nd, in the city of Palmas. The event, which already has more than 700 registered, will run until Friday, October 4th. The theme chosen for this edition is “The Unconstitutional State of Things”. This concept refers to the systemic and massive violation of fundamental rights, whether individual or collective, affecting a large number of people.

The Congress is organized by the Professional and Interdisciplinary Master's Program in Judicial Provision and Human Rights (PPGPJDH), in partnership with the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) and the Federal University of the State of Tocantins (UFT). Participation in the event guarantees a workload of 20 hours, which can be useful for those seeking certificates of participation in academic events.

Who can participate?

The Congress is open to the whole community. There are no restrictions on attendance and anyone interested can register. What's more, the event is completely free. Secure your place clicking here.

Where will it be held?

The activities will take place in two locations: Esmat and the auditorium of the TJTO. The programming ranges from mini courses to BANNERS exhibitions, lectures and thematic panels. In addition, there will be so-called “think tanks”, where experts will come together to discuss specific issues and propose innovative solutions in the field of human rights.

Simultaneous translation

The exchange of experiences will be enriched by the presence of speakers from countries such as the United States, Morocco and Portugal. These lectures aim not only to share good practices, but also to discuss tools and mechanisms for a more effective justice in different contexts.

The international lectures will have simultaneous translation, which ensures that all participants can follow the content, regardless of their language. To pick up the translation headsets, it is important that participants bring a physical document with a photo.

Will the congress be held in hybrid mode?

For those who don't live in the capital, there's no reason to miss out. All the lectures and panels, with the exception of the mini-courses, will be broadcast live, allowing people from other cities in the State of Tocantins and from all over Brazil to follow and participate remotely.
