Enfam And Emerj Will Hold A Debate On Gender And Injustice

On July 5th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates (Enfam) and the School of the Judges of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Emerj) will hold the seminar on Gender and Epistemic Injustices. The event will debate gender issues and epistemic injustices, as well as the difficulties girls and women face in accessing justice. The discussions will take place at three tables: Epistemic injustices and sexual violence against girls and women; Testimonial injustice and gender in criminal justice; and Hermeneutic injustices and gender. Data and research on the topics covered will be presented at each of the tables.

Magistrates who make up the Center for Studies and Research on Gender, Human Rights and Access to Justice of Enfam will participate as panelists, as well as national and international professionals who are references on the subject. Minister of the Superior Court of Justice Rogério Schietti will be at the opening table. The audience of the seminar is made up of representatives from the academic community in general, the judiciary and the postgraduate program of Enfam.

The seminar is organized by Justice Adriana Mello, a lecturer at the Professional Postgraduate Program in Law by Enfam (PPGPD), President of the Permanent Forum on Domestic, Family and Gender Violence and coordinator of the Center of Gender, Race and Ethnicity Research of Emerj (Nupegre).
