93rd National Meeting Of Chiefs Of Justice And 5th National Land Forum Begin On April 24th In The City Of Palmas

From April 24th to 26th the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins will host the 93rd National Meeting of Chiefs of Justice (ENCOGE) and the 5th National Land Forum in the city of Palmas. The events are organized by the Permanent College of Chiefs of Justice of the Courts of Justice of Brazil (Ccoge) and, in this edition, they have the support of the General Internal Affairs of Justice of the State of Tocantins (CGJUS), the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) and the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat).

The opening ceremony will take place next Wednesday (April 24th) at 5pm in the auditorium of the TJTO. The event will feature a magna speech on the National Plan for Confronting the Unconstitutional State of Affairs in Brazilian Prisons - ADPF 347, given by the Councillor of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), José Edivaldo Rocha Rotondano, and by the Assistant Judge of the Presidency of the CNJ and Coordinator of the Department for Monitoring and Inspection of the Prison System and the System for the Execution of Socio-Educational Measures of the National Council of Justice (DMF), Luís Geraldo Sant'Ana Lanfredi. Also during the ceremony, the "Justice Décio Antônio Erpen" medal will be awarded. 

With the theme on General Internal Affairs of the Courts of Justice: Dialogues, Transparency and Innovation for Conflict Resolution, the programming of the 93rd Encoge continues on April 25th and, on April 26th, the 5th National Land Forum will be held, which will address the theme on Sustainable Development, Land Governance and Resilient Cities.

"We are very honored to be hosting the 93rd edition of Encoge and the 5th National Land Forum, which this year are fostering debate on topics that are so current and pertinent to the work carried out by the Courts of Justice. I'm sure we'll have excellent results at the end of the three-day meeting," said the host of the event, Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal, Chief Justice of the State of Tocantins and vice-President of the National Land Forum. 

On Thursday (April 18th), during a meeting at the presidency of the TJTO, the Justice delivered the invitation to the opening ceremony of the events to the members of the Full Bench. On that occasion, the Assistant Judges of the CGJUS, Arióstenis Guimarães and Esmar Custódio, and the Coordinating Judge of the Land Prevention and Regularization Center of the State of Tocantins (Nupref/CGJUS), Wellington Magalhães, explained the programming and the topics that will be covered at the events. 

Culture

With the aim of highlighting the cultural riches of the State, the cultural events of the State of Tocantins – Divine Festival, House Ridings (Cavalhadas) and Sussia - are part of the visual identity of the event and they will be presented to the participants throughout the programming, as will the regional cuisine, golden grass handicrafts and Ritxoko dolls - indigenous art made from ceramics and listed as Intangible Heritage of the Brazilian Culture.
