Paths Of The Global Economy Are Explored On The Second Day Of The Seminar

Social security, labor relations, litigation financing, credit cards and sustainability were some of the panels presented on the second day of the Seminar on the new directions of the global economy.

The start of the activities of this afternoon (March 8th) was marked by presentations by the President of the Brazilian Association of Closed Supplementary Pension Funds (ABRAPP), Dr. Jarbas Antonio de Biagi, on the socio-economic role and insertion in the disruptive world of closed supplementary pension funds.

Addressing the relevance of collective bargaining for legal certainty, the legal manager for the Midwest and Superior Courts at the Brazilian Federation of Banks, Gisaldo do Nascimento Pereira, was in charge of the second panel. Meanwhile, João Mendes, a partner at Prisma Capital, spoke about the effects of litigation funding.

After the break, Octavio de Barros, Director of OMR Barros Economic Consulting and Quantum4 Solutions of Innovation, spoke about the outlook for the Brazilian economy and liberal democracies in a technologically unprecedented economic environment and new global geopolitics.

The legal, self-regulation and compliance Director at ABECS, Dr. Marcelo Takeyama, brought interesting perspectives on the card market. Closing the activities of the day, the Executive Legal Director at JBS, Dr. Adriano Ribeiro, explored some good practices for preserving natural resources.

Held in the State of Bahia by the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem) in partnership with the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), the event was attended by the Ministers of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), Luiz Alberto Gurgel de Faria and Sebastião Reis Junior; the Vice-President of the Superior Labor Court (TST), Minister Aloysio da Veiga; and Justices Heraldo Oliveira, Marco Villas Boas and Jeronymo Villas Boas. On the occasion, they acted as panel chairs.
