Doctor In Military Sciences Conducts Training On Institutional Security For Judges And Civil Servers At TJTO

Magistrates and civil servers from the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins took part in the Fundamentals of Institutional Security course on Wednesday afternoon (November 22nd). Conducted by Camel André de Godoy Farah, who holds a doctorate in Military Sciences, the training aimed to "provide basic knowledge about security activities and help to ensure that all members of the Court are aware of the security activity".

During the presentations, Camel introduced the participants to the basic concepts linked to institutional security, providing a comprehensive theoretical overview before going deeper into the more practical issues related to security.

"The current institutional security landscape is undergoing significant transformations amid a series of changes in the world. These socio-economic, political and cultural transformations have a direct impact on security. Faced with this constantly evolving environment, it was necessary to revise the existing security model, and the concept of institutional security emerged around 2010," he explained.

When contextualizing the term, Camel pointed out that "it is a model that covers the institution as a whole, emphasizing the breadth of action and the systemic approach that advocates the integration and interdependence of all sectors. This is crucial for security today".

The speaker stressed that institutional security encompasses a set of actions aimed at protecting and safeguarding the organization and its members, in order to neutralize threats posed by hostile actors, natural events and several technical, environmental, material or other conditions.

"Why not just mention safeguarding the organization? Because we make a point of protecting the most valuable asset an institution has, which is its members. Without them, an institution is nothing," said Camel.

This project aims to contextualize and raise the awareness of magistrates and civil servers in relation to the vulnerabilities present in the exercise of their functions, showing the importance of the Institutional Security activity for their protection.
