Lecture On "The Hidden World Of Emotional Wounds And Physical Diseases" Addresses The Impact Of Trauma On Health

"Being happy is not a choice. Being happy is being you." With this reflection, the second and final lecture scheduled for the VIII Health Week began, with the theme: "The Hidden World of Emotional Wounds and Physical Diseases". The event took place on Friday afternoon (September 29th) and it was given by Júlio Nascimento, an anthropologist with a postgraduate degree in Gendai Reiki Ho, and Ana Paula Barnabé, an administrator with a postgraduate degree in Gendai Reiki Ho.

The speakers discussed the practice of Gendai Reiki Ho, an alternative or complement to medicinal and psychological therapies that has become a philosophy of life for living healthily and happily. The aim is to promote healing of the mind and body, while supporting spiritual growth.

Emotional Wounds

Throughout the event, the speakers provoked the participants to reflect on emotional wounds and unraveled how these traumas can directly affect our physical and mental health. "Emotional wounds not only have an impact on our daily lives and actions. They can cause us to become disconnected from who we are, to the point where we find it difficult to even say what we like," said Ana Paula.

In addition, Júlio and Ana Paula presented examples of people who started practicing Reiki and totally changed their habits, cured themselves of various physical anomalies and now have a defined life purpose and consider themselves "extremely happy".

Five principles

The speakers also explained the five principles of Reiki, which, according to them, are essential factors for living happily and healthily. They are: Don't be upset; Be grateful; Don't worry; Do everything with dedication; and Practice kindness.

"It's important to live in the now. Most of our worries aren't always consolidated and people sometimes stop living because of this. It's also very important not to get upset and think we're in control of everything. Not everything is going to happen as we planned and we also have to practice kindness and not make these actions conditional in exchange for something," said Júlio.

Caring for the employees

When asked about the importance of the event for the civil servers of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins, the speakers said: "It is extremely important for us to be taking part in this kind of event, to be talking about health here at the Court and the importance of systemic health. To realize that the Court is taking care of its employees is very interesting for us. Another important point to mention is that the participants had access to information in order to seek self-knowledge, self-care and integral health. Encouraging this in employees means that you have more productive, happier employees, who deliver, who help more people, even in the world of work, in the professional world."
