It can be said that Justice 5.0 is the era of technology at the service of social justice. On Thursday evening (April 27th), the opening of the seminar on "The future of business and Justice 5.0" took place in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The event was organized by the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of Magistracy (COPEDEM) in partnership with the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT).
In the occasion, Justice Marco Villas Boas, Director of Esmat and President of Copedem, thanked everyone for their presence and highlighted the importance of dialogue with society in its various segments. In his speech, the Justice stressed the relevance of the debate about the digital transformation in society and the role of the judiciary in the normalization and legal stability of these relations. He pointed out that the complexity of these problems deserves special attention from all points of view, either to offer a perspective of economic development, or to honor the dignity of the human being in all its dimensions.
The Justice stated that it is essential to integrate the productive sector, the economic area, and the human and social development sector into this network of information, relationships, and debates to better understand the development of a society.
"I hope that during the course of our activities lessons will indeed emerge and that they will enlighten us in this journey of better understanding the new systems that we develop on the digital plane," he concluded.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Minister Ricardo Vilas Bôas Cueva, from the Superior Court of Justice (STJ); and Judge Marco Aurélio Bezerra de Melo, General Director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Rio de Janeiro (EMERJ). During the evening, two lectures took place. The first, given by Doctor Emerson Kapaz, president of the Legal Fuel Institute, approached the topic on "Tax Simplification". The second lecture, entitled "Sustainability and Development", was given by Doctor Walter Baère de Araújo Filho.
