The Program

The Justice for Peace at Home Week aims to increase the effectiveness of the Maria da Penha Law (Law No. 11.340, 2006), focusing efforts to speed up the progress of cases related to gender violence.

The Program also promotes interdisciplinary actions aimed at giving visibility to the subject and making society aware of the violent reality experienced by women in the country.  It also has the participation of the State Prosection (MPE), the State Public Defender's Office (DPE), and the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).

In the last edition, in November, 2022, a joint effort of hearings and 894 educational actions were carried out, including lectures (719) and conversation rounds (175), in all the districts of the state.
