Esmat and UFT hold online edition of the XI International Congress on Human Rights

As a result of the global health crisis caused by Covid-19, the School of Judges of Tocantins (ESMAT), in partnership with the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT), will perform between June 29th and July 7th, the online Edition of the XI International Congress on Human Rights. The event is organized by the Master's Program in Jurisdictional Assistance and Human Rights, result of Esmat's partnership with UFT.

With the theme Fundamental Rights in Pandemic Times - Scenarios and Perspectives -, the Event will count with the participation of renowned speakers, national and international, from countries such as Angola, France, Argentina, United States and Brazil, who will speak on important topics related to this moment lived by people all over the world and the post-pandemic perspectives. During the program, seven online panels will be broadcast, with the objective of debating on topics related to the current global health situation.

In this edition, the eminent professor Eugenio Raúl Zaffaroni will be honored, considered one of the greatest world authorities in Criminal Law today. A mandatory reference in Latin America, he is one of those responsible for making a critical review of Criminal Law. Judge of the Supreme Court of Argentina, a career magistrate, he practiced law, quickly went through politics in his country and produced a vast and renowned work on his specialty. 

With a 20 hours workload, at the end of the Congress whoever participates in all panels or obtains 75% attendance will receive the participation certificate in the Congress. Panel participation will also be provided; in this case, the participant will receive the certificate per panel. During the lectures, participants will be able to interact, sending questions through the transmission system.
