Esmat'S General Director gives a lecture at the II World Congress: contemporary and interdisciplinary analysis of fundamental rights

The participation and performance of traditional peoples in the new Brazilian socio-environmental and legal scenario, as well as the rights for the use and preservation of conservation areas in indigenous and quilombola territories were the themes addressed in the lecture "New Perspectives of Ethnoenvironmental Protection in the Amazon", delivered by the Justice Marco Villas Boas, General Director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT).

The lecture is part of the II World Congress program: contemporary and interdisciplinary analysis of fundamental rights, which in this edition will address digital law, public policies and fundamental rights. In his speech, the Justice highlighted the actions of ecological zoning, the participation of representatives of traditional peoples in payments for environmental services, the implementation of ecological corridors and mosaics of conservation units. "Ecological economic zoning is a primordial factor for the planned growth, not only of agriculture, as the flagship of the Brazilian economy, but also of the entire economy. And this with the cards on the table, knowing the limits, how far we can go with the development and how far we need to preserve our forests. The disorderly situation only favors illegal and clandestine situations that end up impoverishing the states, municipalities and especially the union, since the predators' preferred target are indigenous lands and other protected areas", he stated.

Nearly 500 speakers from more than 20 countries will participate, from November 22nd to 29th, in this Congress, which aims to discuss the contemporary and interdisciplinary analysis of fundamental rights, especially under the focus of Digital Law and Public Policy. The event is organized by the Escuela Interdisciplinar de Derechos Fundamentales Praeeminentia Iustitia (Interdisciplinary School of Fundamental Rights Praeeminentia Iustitia) and the RED de Derecho América Latina y el Caribe (RED of Latin America Law and the Caribbean) (REDALC). Important international institutions are organizing the Congress, including Peru, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Nicaragua and Paraguay.
