Esmat and UFT promote a "how not to do a thesis" lecture given by professor Clovis Ultramari

It happens next Friday (24th), starting at 2 pm the "How not to do a thesis" lecture, given by the Doctor Professor Clovis Ultramari, from the Area of Urban and Regional Planning and Demography of CAPES and Coordinator of the Strategic Area Cities of PUCPR. The event takes place in the classroom in the auditorium of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) and will be broadcasted by the school's channel on the Youtube platform.

Held in partnership with the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Regional Development (PPGDR) of the Federal University of the State of Tocantins, the lecture, which has the homonymous title of the book published by the author in 2016, presents the phases of preparing a thesis. From the choice of the research topic and advisor and progresses to the defense session.  The adopted profile of the text is informal, ironic, and prioritizes particular views of the author. The book emphasizes the importance of the form and content of a thesis, but does not reproduce manuals that emphasize, with validity, the importance of the addiction to scientific standards of publication. There is a constant defense that as important as the research itself is the ability to express oneself textually, especially regarding the methodological choice.
