The Judicial Power of the State of Bahia (PJBA) will host, on April 11th and 12th, the Forum on Security and Human Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. On this occasion, renowned speakers from Brazil and abroad will gather in the auditorium of the PJBA headquarters to debate relevant issues, with a view to the improving of criminal justice.
On this occasion, Judge Marco Villas Boas, General Director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins and president of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of Magistracy (COPEDEM), will participate, on the 11th, in the 2nd Plenary Session with the Cyber Crimes theme, as the executive secretary of the Session.
The event is held by PJBA in partnership with the Latin American Permanent Committee for the Prevention of Crime (COPLAD) - a program of the United Nations Latin American Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (ILANUD) - and is supported by the Corporate University and the Judiciary of the State of Bahia (UNICORP) and the Regional Bank of Brasília (BRB), in addition to the institutional assistance from the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).
The initiative also includes multilateral planning for security, with a focus on science, technology, and innovation, creating opportunities for proactive performance in education, sports, economic growth, social mobility, and the well-being of people in the family and the community.
The chosen themes involve planning approaches that should highlight the need for the universal effectiveness of UN norms, principles and platforms in order to strengthen the multilateral dimensions of human rights, fundamental freedoms and the dignity of peoples in Latin America.
