Esmat holds the seminar on "Competition and Illegal Practices" in partnership with the Puperior Court of Justice and the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) and the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of Magistracy (COPEDEM) promote the seminar "Competition and Illegal Practices: A view on ethics and legality in the economic environment", in partnership with the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and with the support of the National School for Training and Improvement of Magistrates (ENFAM). The event will take place this Friday, November 11th, from 8:30am to 12:30pm, in the city of Brasília (DF), in the corporate meeting room of the Superior Court of Justice.

The debates will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of Copedem. Coordinated by the Center for Legal Memory (Memory), the opening of the event will have the presence of Justice Marco Villas Boas, president of Copedem and General Director of Esmat, and the Minister of the Superior Court of Justice and General Director of Enfam, Mauro Campbell Marques.

The first panel of the seminar will address the theme on "The role of the judiciary in promoting legal security in the economic environment". The debate will be honored by the Minister João Otávio de Noronha, from the Superior Court of Justice; by Juliano Rebelo Marques, president of the Special Commission to Combat the Illegal Market (CFOAB); and by Fernando Queiroz Neves, PhD and Master of Laws from the Law School of PUC-São Paulo.

The second panel will have as speakers the Minister Ricardo Villas Bôas Cueva, from the Superior Court of Justice; and the counselor Lenisa Rodrigues Prado, from the Administrative Council of Economic Defense (CADE), having as moderator, the partner of Barral, Parente, Pinheiro Lawyers, Welber Barral. In this second block, the topic on "Predatory Litigation and Competition Impacts" will be addressed.

The theme "Improper tax classification and anti-competitive practices" will be addressed in the third debate, moderated by the FIESP-CIESP Legal Director Helcio Honda and with the participation of Minister Regina Helena Costa, from the Superior Court of Justice; and Counselor and President Alexandre Cordeiro Macedo, from the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE).

Finally, the closing speech will be made by Justice Marco Villas Boas.
