Esmat Begins Course On Humanizing Care For Lgbtqiapn+ People: Challenges For The Judiciary

On Wednesday (April 30th), the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) held the first web class of the course on Humanizing Care for LGBTQIAPN+ People: Challenges for the Judiciary, using the Google Meet platform.

The class was led by facilitator Bruna Andrade Irineu, a professor in the Department of Social Work at the Federal University of the state of Mato Grosso (UFMT), who works in the Postgraduate Programs in Social Policy and Collective Health.

The first module of the training was entitled on “Body, Gender, Sexuality, Race, Ethnicity and Social Class: Differences and Inequalities”. The approach included central concepts for the debate on sexual and gender diversity, based on contributions from the Social Sciences. Among the topics discussed were sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sexual characteristics, as well as understanding the dynamics of relations of oppression and social hierarchization.
