On Thursday (March 20th), the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) began the course on “Socio-Historical and Legal Aspects of Adoption and its Specificities - 2025”, aimed at civil servers and accredited professionals from the Multidisciplinary Team Management Group (GGEM).
The training aims to train civil servers and accredited professionals from the technical teams of the Multidisciplinary Team Management Group (GGEM), with training in the areas of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Work, with a view to understand, guide, manage and practice adoption and the phases of this process, in order to reflect on the social, political and psychological effects resulting from the act of adopting or being adopted.
With 50 class hours, the course, taught by facilitators Milena Blumetti da Silva, Christiane de Holanda Camilo and Denise do Carmo Ferreira, will take place virtually via Google Meet and the Virtual Learning Environment of Esmat (VLE).
The first web class covered general guidelines and getting used to the course, with explanations about the role of GGEM in guaranteeing social rights and the work of the technical teams in monitoring adoption cases.
Tutor Sabrina D. Lizandro Timotheo de Sousa Freitas will accompany the students during the training, offering pedagogical support and helping with the proposed activities.
The course will continue until May 1st, with modules that explore the historical and legal processes of childhood and adolescence, the system for guaranteeing rights and the contemporary challenges of adoption, such as stigmas, prejudices and the mediations needed to strengthen family ties and guarantee the well-being of children and adolescents.
