This Friday (February 28th), the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) concludes the last video lesson of the ninth class of the course on “Financial Education for Consumers - My bills up to date at Cejusc”. The training, taught in hybrid mode, covered topics such as functional behavior for consumption, entrepreneurship, as well as consumer protection and defense.
Coordinated by Judge Umbelina Lopes Pereira Rodrigues, the project is part of the set of measures established by the Law No. 14,181, of July 1st, 2021, which amended the Consumer Protection Code (Law No. 8,078, of 1990), especially the article 104-A of the mentioned Law, regarding the process of collective debt renegotiation.
The activities, divided into four modules, followed a methodology that included video lessons, slide studies, videos, documentaries, booklets and articles. These materials illustrated the themes of the modules, such as debt renegotiation plans, strategies for avoiding debt and organizing finances.
The course closes on March 7th, with the students evaluating their reaction to the structure of the curriculum, the teachers and the methodology applied.
