Mindfulness For Self-Care Course Concludes Journey With Focus On Mental Health And Wellness

The Mindfulness for Self-Care course came to an end in its last session held this Thursday (July 6th), at the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT). With an approach divided into eight sessions, the training aimed to provide participants with knowledge about how the mind works, aiming to achieve full consciousness and reduce the emotional suffering and anxiety so present in modern life.

Taught by professor Lucilene Prado e Silva, the target audience of the course was physiotherapists and health professionals working in the Health Space of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, as well as Judges and employees of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins. With a total workload of 16 hours, the action was carried out in a classroom setting. Each of the eight sessions approached specific themes and practices related to self-care and full consciousness.

The first session dealt with the observation of the contrast between full consciousness and autopilot, while the second focused on the importance of the interpretations we make of events and their impact on our emotional reactions. In subsequent sessions, participants were able to develop awareness of the body in motion, recognize and disengage from negative thought patterns, practice being with difficult experiences, explore the relationship between activity and mood, as well as review the content learned and discuss the importance of self-care.
