Esmat conducts training for the Awakening Time Program

On Monday (June 7th), the classes of the training course for the Awakening Time Program began, in the distance learning modality, live through Esmat's Virtual Environment and the Google Meet Platform. Conducted by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), the course has a classload of 70 hours and runs until July 30th, 2021.

The training is aimed at permanent or commissioned public servers, interns and public servers from other organs at the disposal of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins; professionals graduated in Psychology, Social Work and/or Pedagogy, accredited in the Management Group of Multidisciplinary Teams (GGEM); GGEM's Technical Team; members of the State Prosecutor's Office of the State of Tocantins and the Public Defender's Office of the State of Tocantins, and its objective is to train technical teams from the theoretical, methodological and experiential point of view to facilitate Reflective Groups with men who are authors of violence against women, in the Awakening Time Program in the scope of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, in the district of Palmas.

Among the contents presented, are: Module I - Trajectories, Achievements, and Limitations of Women's Rights in the Legislation; Module II - Theories on Domestic and Family Violence Against Women; Module III - Theories of Groups as support for the Work with Men who are Authors of Domestic and Family Violence Against Women; Module IV - Reflective Groups for Men who are Authors of Violence: Methodology and Group Experiences.

About the Professors

Érica Verícia Canuto de Oliveira Veras

Graduated in Law from the Federal University of Paraíba, 1996. Master's Degree in Law, from the Federal University of Bahia, 2006. Master in Social Sciences, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, 2014. Doctorate in Social Sciences, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, 2018. PhD candidate in Law, from the University of the Basque Country - Spain. She is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and a prosecutor of the State Prosecutor's Office of the State of Rio Grande do Norte. Coordinator of the Center for Assistance to Women Victims of Domestic and Family Violence of the State Prosecution (NAMVID). Coordinator of the Domestic Violence of the Americas Committee of Rio Grande do Norte. Member of the State Committee for Confronting Violence against Women. Member of the State Committee for the Defense of Women in Prison. She has experience in the areas of Law and Social Sciences. She is a lecturer and researcher in the following areas of interest: Domestic Violence Against Women and Girls, Criminal Law, Family Law, Children and Adolescents Law, Human Rights, Gender Relations and Sexual Diversity.



Juliano Beck Scott

Clinical psychologist and researcher, with a degree in Psychology, from Franciscan University Center (UNIFRA), 2011. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), 2013. Master's degree in Psychology, from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), 2016. PhD, 2018. Post-Doctorate, 2019, in Psychology, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). The main study and research themes that underpin his training and work are: Social Psychology and Public Policies, Health Policies and Social Assistance, Psychologist Practice, Gender, Sexualities, Couples, Masculinities and Violence.

Márcia Maria Borba Lins

Graduated in Social Service from the University of Brasilia, 1993. For 23 years she has been a judicial analyst - Social Service - at the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories (TJDFT). Currently she is part of the team at the Women's Legal Center (NJM), of the TJDFT. Specialist sociodramatist, by the Brazilian Federation of Psychodrama (FEBRAP). She has experience in Situations of Domestic Violence against Children and Adolescents and Gender Violence against Women; Individual and Group Care to the Situation of Violence. National trainer and tutor of forensic interviewers and supervisors of forensic interviewers, by the National Council of Justice. She trains professionals of the Integrated May 18th Center, in Brasília, and, since 2010, professionals of the courts of justice in the topic of Special Testimony.

Cristiane Rodrigues Assunção de Matos

Graduated in Social Service at the University of Brasilia, 2003. Specialist in Social Service, Rights and Professional Skills, from the Center for Distance Education (CEAD/UnB), 2010. Master's Degree in Social Policy, from the Graduate Program in Social Policy of the Department of Social Service of UnB, 2013. Social Worker of the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories, since 2008. Works with the Domestic and Family Violence Against Women theme, since 2009.
