Memória Journal is now available (Year 4, no 5), an edition that documents the main highlights of the Copedem 2025 Congress and continues the debates on the impact of intelligent technologies in the legal universe. The event was held from April 10th to 12th in the city of Rio de Janeiro, with the theme on "Building the future with intelligent technologies: contemporary perspectives on the development of the judicial system, law and business".

By bringing together representatives of the Judiciary, academia, private initiative and partner institutions, the Congress proposed reflections on possible paths for the digital future of Justice. The discussions addressed topics such as Generative Artificial Intelligence, Automated Judicial Decisions, Ethics, AI Regulation, Cybersecurity, Data Protection, Blockchain, Smart Contracts, in addition to the Technological Challenges in the Areas of Health, Finance, Agribusiness and Judicial Education.

The president of Copedem and general director of the Superior School of the Judge of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), Justice Marco Villas Boas stressed the importance of an innovation committed to institutional values.

“Artificial Intelligence must be at the service of citizenship and the strengthening of democracy", he said.

For the magistrate, the meeting was also "fundamental to reflect on the impact of emerging technologies in Justice and think together regulatory, educational and institutional solutions". Memória Journal no 5 extends the legacy of the Congress by promoting the circulation of the ideas discussed, with articles and thematic blocks that cover multiple approaches to the theme.

In the editorial, Lourdes Gonçalves, CEO of Memory and executive editor of the publication, defines the Congress as a milestone of convergence between knowledge.

“More than mapping trends, this Congress was an invitation to action. A call for Law, Justice and business to walk together in the mission of ensuring that Artificial Intelligence is an ally of democracy, equity and responsible innovation," she added.

The Congress was coordinated by the Legal Memory Center - Memory -, with support from institutions such as the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), the National School of Magistracy (ENM), the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates (Enfam), Esmat and universities.
