Giseli, an Artificial Intelligence developed by the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) to support the General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS) in the supervision of extrajudicial notaries, is now also collaborating with the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat). The technology, which was born from a doctoral research in the Post-Graduate Program in Digital Transformation and Governance of the Federal University of the state of Tocantins (UFT) and Esmat, will now be used to optimize the analysis of academic documents at the Virtual Academic Secretariat (SAV) of the School.
In partnership with the Directorate of Information Technology of the TJTO, Esmat requested the support of Giseli to automate the reading of certificates archived in the Electronic Information System (SEI) and integrate them to SAV, responsible for the academic management of the School. The process, which would require human effort, if done manually, obtained 98.83% success in reading and extracting information from more than 2,000 certificates of magistrates and civil servers.
The Giseli AI uses techniques of Natural Language Processing and computer vision to extract data such as the name of the student, course, workload and completion date directly from documents. Automation ensures accuracy, agility and security in the consolidation of the academic history.
According to the developer of extrajudicial systems, Harly Carreiro, civil server of the TJTO and PhD student at Esmat/ UFT, the initiative shows how applied research can generate concrete solutions to the challenges of the Judiciary.
“It is important to mention that Giseli is the result of the investment of Esmat in training the civil server of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins. A solution that combined scientific research with a concrete product for the Judiciary", highlights.
In addition to the advances in the educational field, Giseli continues its original mission of modernizing and giving more transparency to the performance of the General Internal Affairs of Justice, analyzing on a large scale the acts of extrajudicial notaries in the state of Tocantins. The tool has already been recognized nationally with awards such as the Innovative Judicial Seal, from the second edition of the Innovation Award of the CNJ.
