The Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) participates, once again, in the Santa Claus campaign. The action, carried out through the Coordination of Childhood and Youth (CIJ/TJTO), is part of the Technical Cooperation Agreement no 143, of 2024, signed between the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the Brazilian Postal and Telegraph Company.
The letters are written by children and adolescents in institutional care or inserted in welcoming families, according to the criteria of the National System of Adoption and Reception. It is these boys and girls, who currently live away from the family life by protective measure, the attended by the campaign. Each letter can be adopted by magistrates and civil servers, who become godparents of a gesture of affection and solidarity.
This year, the campaign was expanded. In addition to the city of Palmas, six other counties joined the action: Araguaína, Dianopólis, Gurupi, Paraíso do Tocantins, Paranã and Porto Nacional. In total, there will be 108 letters available for sponsorship of magistrates and civil servers.
For the judge coordinator of Childhood and Youth of the city of Palmas, Adriano Gomes, the gesture goes beyond the delivery of gifts:
“The campaign allows children and adolescents welcomed to feel part of an environment of affection and inclusion, at the same time it sensitizes the staff of the Judiciary to the importance of the protective area”.
How to adopt the letters
Adoption letters are available at the participating Courts of Childhood and Youth until December 4th. Magistrates and civil servers are invited to deliver, along with the gift, a message. It is important that the letter does not contain personal information such as phone number, address or any data identifying the sender.
