Esmat Participates In Cultural Action On Indigenous Peoples In The State Of Minas Gerais

Representing the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), the librarian Silvânia Olortegui participated on July 23rd in the programming of the project: "So, tell your story - Original Peoples" -, promoted by the City Hall of the city of Pedra do Indaiá (state of MG), through the Health Secretariat and the Equity Project.

During the event, held at the Zita Gomes CRAS, Silvânia gave the lecture on "Indigenous Peoples of the state of Tocantins", highlighting cultural, social and historical aspects of different ethnicities, with special focus on initiatives to enhance and safeguard traditional knowledge.

The presentation also addressed the project on Arts, Knowledge and Making of the Indigenous Peoples of the state of Tocantins, an initiative of Esmat that seeks to recognize and disseminate cultural expressions of the native peoples of the state of Tocantins, contributing to the construction of a more plural and inclusive collective memory.

The meeting was attended by mayor Matheus Marciano dos Santos, deputy mayor Clécio Teles, municipal health secretary Geovana Samara dos Santos, councilor Hyago Mendonça and other local authorities.

With the theme on "Original Peoples", the event aimed to enhance narratives, expand listening spaces and strengthen the role of indigenous peoples in the formation of the Brazilian identity. The action is part of the Equity Project, nationally recognized for promoting inclusion, memory and social justice from the experiences of communities.
