Esmat Is Re-Accredited For Another Five Years To Offer Face-To-Face Postgraduate Courses

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) has had its accreditation renewed for another five years to offer LATO SENSU postgraduate courses in the face-to-face modality. The re-accreditation was made official by the Decree No. 6.981, published on Wednesday, July 2nd.

According to the document, this decision follows the rules that organize education in Brazil and the state of Tocantins. These include the National Education Guidelines and Bases Law (Federal Law No. 9.394, of 1996), which establishes how courses and educational institutions should operate in the country, and the State Law No. 2.139, of 2009, which deals with specific rules at the state level. In addition, technical opinions were taken into account which confirm that Esmat is in order and that its courses maintain the required quality.

In practice, the measure ensures that in-person specializations will continue to be offered in the city of Palmas, strengthening the mission of Esmat to train and continuously improve the magistrates and civil servers of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins.

In recognition of the collective work that made this institutional achievement possible once again, Justice Marco Villas Boas, general director of Esmat and president of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem), emphasized the importance of joint action in consolidating the school's academic quality of the School.

For the team at the Postgraduate Center of Esmat, the entire re-accreditation process involved a joint effort to meet the required indicators and requirements, with the support of the internal sectors and the trust of the managers.

“We strive to meet all the indicators and requirements, guaranteeing the excellence we always strive for in our courses. We count on the support of every sector at ESMAT and the trust of our managers, who believe in our work and have given us the necessary support to achieve this goal. This re-accreditation reinforces the commitment of the School to quality training for judges and civil servers. We will continue working with the same commitment and dedication to offer excellent postgraduate courses to our students," they said.

Also in the first half of this year, Institutional and Academic Council of Esmat approved the creation of a LATO SENSU postgraduate course in Business Law and Agribusiness and an MBA in Applied Artificial Intelligence. Resolutions 445 and 446 were published in the Gazette of Justice in May.

Both courses will follow current legislation and the Internal Regulations of the School, with teaching projects drawn up by the Postgraduate Center. More information will be released later.
