
Justice Marco Villas Boas, president of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem) and general director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), was honored on Thursday (June 5th) with the “Justice César Montenegro” Medal of Academic Merit.
The honor was awarded during the official opening of the LIX Meeting of Copedem, held in the city of Porto Velho (RO), in partnership with the School of the Judges of the State of Rondônia (Emeron).
The medal, presented by Justice Alexandre Miguel, director of Emeron, recognizes personalities with outstanding achievements in legal education. Established by the Resolution No. 025 of 2013, the award bears the name of the magistrate who contributed decisively to the creation and consolidation of the School of the Judges of the State of Rondônia.
Alongside leaders of judicial schools from all over the country, Justice Marco Villas Boas took part in the Opening Ceremony, made up of authorities such as Justice Raduan Miguel Filho, president of the Court of Justice of the State of Rondônia (TJRO) and Federal Judge Ilan Presser, general secretary of the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates (Enfam).
The ceremony took place in Historic Plenum of Emeron, after a guided tour of the Madeira-Mamoré (Wood-Mamoré) Railroad Museum and a performance by storyteller Eliseu Braga.
In the afternoon, Justice Marco acted as a panelist in the debate on “Cooperation between the Judicial and of the Judges Schools with a Focus on the Consolidation of Renejum”, alongside Justice Cláudio Luis Braga Dell'Orto. Justice Alexandre Miguel mediated.
He also chaired the panel on “Stricto Sensu in Network”, with the participation of Mr. Thiago Matsushita, director of the Fadisp/Unialfa School of Law. The programming of the meeting continues until Friday (June 6th), with workshops and a reading of the Copedem Rondônia charter.
