Continuing the series of episodes dealing with the effects of harassment and discrimination in everyday professional life, the third edition of the podcast on The Power of Voice discussed the psychological consequences of such attitudes in the institutional environment.
Mediated by Dr. Flávia Afini Bovo, president of the Commission for Preventing and Confronting Moral and Sexual Harassment and Discrimination of the 1st Degree (Cassedio1G), and Daniella Negry, a member of the Commission for Preventing and Confronting Moral Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Discrimination (Cassedio2G), the episode had the special participation of Psychologist Janaína Rodrigues Araújo, from the Psychosocial Support Center (Napsi), who shared her experience in welcoming civil servers affected by these practices.
During the conversation, the most recurrent manifestations of psychological suffering caused by situations of bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination were discussed, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, low self-esteem and impacts on productivity and interpersonal relationships. The mediators emphasized the role of the Support Commission for Victims of Harassment and Discrimination of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins (Cassedio) as a safe space for listening, welcoming and making appropriate referrals.
