Tjto Launches Competition Notice For Substitute Judge; Registrations Open On February 17th

The Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) has issued the public notice for the 6th Public Competition for the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins to fill seven vacancies for Substitute Judges and form a reserve list. The document was published in the Gazette of Justice this Wednesday (January 29th), signed by the president of the TJTO, Justice Etelvina Maria Sampaio Felipe; and by the president of the Organizing Committee, Justice Eurípedes Lamounier.

Registrations will take place from February 17th to March 20th, 2025. To register, interested parties must access the website of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), the bank responsible for running the competition, from 4 p.m. on the initial deadline until 4 p.m. on March 20th, Brasília time (DF), and complete and send the application. The application form will then be sent to the bank with the registration fee of R$323.50, to be paid by March 21st.

Candidates covered by the Federal Decree No. 6.593/2008 who are registered in the Single Registry for Federal Government social programs (CadÚnico) and are members of low-income families, under the terms of the Decree No. 11.016/2022; by the State Law No. 4.000/2022 (summoned and appointed candidates who have performed electoral service); by the Federal Law No. 13. 656/2018 (bone marrow donors); State Law No. 3,459/2019 (breast milk donors); and State Law No. 4,530/2024 (jurors) may apply for exemption from the registration fee between 4 p.m. on February 17th and 4 p.m. on February 19th.

The salary for the position of Substitute Judge of the State of Tocantins is R$32,350.30.

Vacancies

Of the total number of vacancies on offer, 5% are reserved for people with disabilities (Resolution No. 75/2009 CNJ); 20% for black candidates (Resolution No. 203/2015 CNJ) and 3% for indigenous people (Resolution No. 512/2023, CNJ).

The requirements for entry to the position of Substitute Judge are: to be a born or naturalized Brazilian citizen, or a Portuguese citizen covered by the Decree 70.391/1972; to be under 65 years of age on the date of entry into office; to have completed a degree of bachelor in Law, at a public or private institution recognized by the MEC; to have practiced law for a minimum period of three years, counted from obtaining a degree of bachelor in Law, under the terms of the art. 93, I, of the Federal Constitution; to have completed a degree of bachelor in Law, at a public or private institution recognized by the MEC. 93, I, of the Federal Constitution; be up to date with military service, if male; be up to date with electoral obligations; enjoy civil and political rights; be of good moral character and have no criminal record; have the psycho-emotional balance to perform the job, demonstrated in a psychotechnical examination; be physically and mentally healthy, proven in a health examination; have, in the investigation carried out by the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, proven a good moral and social record; pass all the stages of the Competition.

Tests

The exams will preferably be held in the city of Palmas and they will take place in five stages: 

I - First Stage - Selective Objective Test, of an eliminatory and classificatory nature;

II - Second Stage - Written Tests (Discursive and Sentences), of an eliminatory and classification nature;

III - Third Stage - with the following eliminatory phases:

  1. a) background check and social investigation;
  2. b) physical and mental health examination;
  3. c) psychotechnical examination.

 

IV - Fourth Stage - Oral Test, of an eliminatory and classification nature;

V - Fifth Stage - Evaluation of titles, of a classification nature.

The objective tests are scheduled for July 6th, 2025, from 1 to 6 p.m. Brasília time. The second stage, consisting of two written tests, a discursive test and a practical test, with the discursive test taking place on a single day and the practical test on two days, will probably be held on August 31st, 2025 and September 1st, 2025.

Candidates successful in the second stage must apply for definitive registration within 15 working days of the date of the call, by submitting an application, the template for which will be made available on the FGV website.  Candidates who qualify for the Third Stage, whose final registrations have been accepted, and who have been found to be suitable in the health and psychotechnical examinations, the background check and the social investigation, will be called to the Fourth Stage (oral exam), after which the evaluation of the qualifications to be presented by the candidates will begin.

 

The competition is valid for two years, renewable once for the same period, from the date of publication of the final result.
