On Monday (January 13th), the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins (PJTO) began an important campaign to reduce its environmental impact: the conscious and sustainable disposal of diaries and calendars of 2024 by civil servers, judges, interns and other employees. This is an ongoing action and it is in its third year.
To this end, a Voluntary Delivery Point (PEV) has been set up in the hall of the Court of Justice of the state of Tocantins (TJTO) in the city of Palmas. The Social and Environmental Management and Social Responsibility Coordination Office (Cogersa), as well as the paper collectors in each room of the building, are also collection points. The General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS) has already set up a collection point at the reception of the building and has it invited everyone to join in this important initiative.
All the material collected will be sent to the cooperatives and associations of recyclable materials affiliated with the Judiciary, demonstrating its socio-environmental commitment to the reuse and recycling of materials, as well as the socio-economic strengthening of workers in this important low-impact production chain, while also reinforcing their social inclusion.
The initiative is based on the Resolution 400, amended by the 550/2024 of the National Council of Justice, which states that environmentally correct actions should aim to reduce the impact on the environment, based on reducing consumption, reusing and recycling materials, reviewing consumption patterns and analyzing the life cycle of products.
Districts
In the countryside, Cogersa advises that a specific Voluntary Delivery Point be set up for the disposal of this type of material. As in the city of Palmas, they should be sent to associations or cooperatives in their respective municipalities. Where there is no association or cooperative, the guidance is that, after weighing the material collected, it should be sent to the city of Palmas for proper disposal.
