Cnj Memory Of The Judiciary Award Receives Registrations Until December 6th

Registrations are now open for the 5th edition of the CNJ Memory of the Judiciary Award, which covers actions aimed at valuing the cultural, material and immaterial assets of the judiciary and promoting human rights. Judicial bodies and academics, as well as individuals, with scientific work aimed at studying the history of justice institutions, are eligible to apply.

Instituído pela Resolução CNJ n. 429/2021, o prêmio deste ano foi regulamentado pela 

Established by the Resolution 429/2021 of the CNJ, the award of this was regulated by the Ordinance CNJ 358/2024 of the CNJ, which introduced new evaluation criteria and stages in the process of analyzing the initiatives. The award will cover the following categories: “Architectural Cultural Heritage”, “Archival Cultural Heritage”, “Bibliographic Cultural Heritage”, “Museological Cultural Heritage” and “Academic Work”. 

The Cultural Heritage categories are aimed at judicial bodies and they can include individual or collective actions. Projects can be entered that respect the nature of the cultural asset to which they relate. The work to be awarded in these categories must have been produced in conjunction with the memory spaces of the respective body or the Memory Management units of the institution.

“Academic work” is the category aimed at the external public and it can receive monographs or course completion works (TCC) from lato sensu postgraduate courses (specialization), master's dissertations, doctoral theses and doctoral dissertations already approved by an examining board. The object of the research must be part of the history of the bodies of the Judiciary. 

In the case of Bibliographic Cultural Heritage, library collection development policies approved by a normative act, management programs, risk management, conservation, preservation, restoration, enhancement and dissemination of the collection will be evaluated. Projects in the “Museological Cultural Heritage” category take into account the existence of a Memory Management unit or a physical space such as a museum, memorial or memory center. 

Initiatives in the Architectural Cultural Heritage category will be selected on the basis of the existence of a listed building at various federal levels or recognition of the aesthetic of the building, cultural or historical value, among other points. The Archival Cultural Heritage category will be judged on the existence of an archival description of the permanent collection or part of it in accordance with the Brazilian Archival Description Standard (Nobrade) and its inclusion in research tools (inventories and catalogs). 

The awards ceremony will take place on May 9th, 2025, at the end of the 5th National Meeting on the Memory of the Judiciary (V ENAM), to be held in the state of Goiás.
