Seminar: Nupref Presents Results And Takes Stock Of Actions

During the II Seminar on Land Regularization and the Real Estate Registry Service in the State of Tocantins, held on Friday (August 16th), the coordinating Judge of the Center for Prevention and Land Regularization of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins (Nupref/CGJUS), Wellington Magalhães, presented a detailed report on the activities and results achieved by the Center created by the Judiciary in 2018.

At the head of Nupref for the 2023-2025 biennium, the magistrate highlighted the numbers obtained so far. According to the report, the Judiciary contributed to the delivery of 6,168 titles in 2023 and a further 5,239 in 2024 (until August). In the city of Palmas, emphasis for the process of legalizing areas such as the Coqueirinho/Tíuba allotment, which is underway, and the Sister Dulce sector. In this neighborhood, a pending of 30-year was resolved with the regularization of 1,340 properties in July.

Currently, Nupref has partnerships with 115 of the 139 municipalities of the State and, since 2018, 18,140 property titles have been handed out across the State, ensuring legal security for thousands of the State of Tocantins. 

As the coordinator of the Center pointed out, land regularization has been advancing even in more complex areas, such as quilombola territories and domain strips. In this regard, Nupref has undergone a strategic restructuring, with the creation of two Technical Chambers for Land Governance.

“The work carried out by Nupref, together with its partners, is a source of great pride for us. It's not just about handing out land titles, but ensuring that thousands of families can live in safety and dignity on their land. Each document delivered represents more than a legal achievement; it symbolizes a new phase in the lives of these people,” said the magistrate.

On the occasion, the President of the National Land Forum and the Chief Justice of the State of Tocantins, Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal, stressed that the results presented are an important indication of the progress and quality of the work carried out. “This report is of the utmost importance, as it shows, through concrete data, that we are achieving our goal of delivering work of excellence, ensuring legal certainty and security. It is a clear proof that our efforts are having a positive impact on society,” she said.
