Award
Established by the Resolution 377/2021 of the CNJ, the “Judge Viviane Vieira do Amaral CNJ Award” was created to honor the memory of the Judge of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ) Viviane Vieira do Amaral, who was the victim of a femicide committed by her ex-husband in December of 2020.
With the creation of the Award, the National Council of Justice (CNJ) aims to give visibility to actions to prevent and combat family and domestic violence, encourage the implementation of appropriate and accessible protection mechanisms to prevent future or potential violence against women and girls. The Judge Viviane Vieira do Amaral CNJ Award also seeks to raise awareness among members of the Judiciary about the need for permanent vigilance in confronting this growing type of violence.
